The event takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at L’Amore Italian restaurant, a community gathering hosted at 3159 E.  Lincoln Drive in Phoenix from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  There are several local rescues including: Furever Loved Senior Rescue, Arizona Poodle Rescue, Happy Tails Doxie Rescue and Grateful Hearts Cat Rescue that will have dogs and cats available for adoption. L’Amore Italian restaurant will be serving up homemade raviolis and signature cocktails with all proceeds going to PACC911.

L'Amore Italian Restaurant and the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911) are joining forces for a one-of-a-kind community fundraiser — "Chop for the Dogs" — a live charity haircut event where the public votes on which hairstyle one brave restaurant server will receive, all in the name of saving animals. The event takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at L’Amore Italian restaurant as part of "Paws on 32nd Street", a community gathering hosted at 3159 E. Lincoln Drive in Phoenix from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The big chop will happen live at 4:00PM.

The community is invited to visit the event's website and vote on one of five bold haircut options — The Buzz Cut, The Mohawk, The Mullet, The Bowl Cut, or The Poncho — for server Nolan, who is voluntarily offering up his signature curls for the cause. Each vote requires a minimum $5 donation, made securely through PACC911's PayPal page. The haircut with the most votes wins and is cut live in front of event attendees.

"I've been growing this hair for a long time," said Nolan. "But if it's going to go, it might as well go for the dogs."
